Cemetery Incident

LEDBURY TOWN COUNCIL

PRESS RELEASE

Ledbury Town Council is deeply saddened to address recent incidents at Ledbury Cemetery, where the actions of individuals have caused distress to families visiting their loved ones.
Regrettably, flowers and other items have been removed from graves within the cemetery and used to create two “fake graves” within the cemetery. In response, we have taken proactive steps to secure these items in safe storage. If you discover that items have been removed from your family grave, we urge you to contact the Town Clerk to arrange a meeting with a member of our council staff at the cemetery for the prompt and safe return of your belongings.
The Council has already informed the police about these concerning activities. We kindly request the community's assistance - if anyone has witnessed suspicious or unusual behaviour in the cemetery, please reach out to the Town Clerk at 01531 632306 or clerk@ledburytowncouncil.gov.uk. Alternatively, you can report directly to the Police.
Let's stand together to protect the sanctity and respect of our cemetery grounds. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
