Ledbury World Bookfest 2026
We’re delighted to welcome you to World BookFest — a vibrant celebration of stories, imagination and creativity for all ages. From inspiring live author performances and interactive storytelling to hands-on workshops, artistic activities and fantastic prizes, there’s something happening around every corner throughout the day.
We’re also thrilled that Lakefest will be joining us as part of the celebrations, bringing an exciting festival atmosphere to the event — including the chance to win Lakefest tickets in our Best Dressed Competition. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect two much-loved community events and make this year’s BookFest extra special.

John Masefield Working Party
Born in Ledbury on 1 June 1878, John Masefield’s challenging childhood and deep connection to the town profoundly influenced his poetry. Appointed British Poet Laureate in 1930, he held the post for nearly 40 years.
Ledbury Town Council is launching an exciting project to celebrate Masefield’s legacy and connect the community with his work. This initiative includes community engagement sessions, creating a memorial brief, and commissioning artists for a tribute by 2028.
