Ledbury Market House- Heritage Open Days
Visit the historic 17th-century Market House, once a corn warehouse, now a hub for town meetings and events!

Step back in time at the iconic black-and-white Market House, dating from the early 17th century. Originally built as a corn warehouse, it has also stored wool, hops, and acorns over the centuries. For a time, it even served as a Marriage Room, though that was halted in 2004 due to accessibility laws. Today, the Market House hosts town council meetings, exhibitions, and sales. The historic charter market, which has been running since the 12th century, still takes place beneath it every Tuesday and Saturday.

Come and discover the fascinating history of this unique building with a PowerPoint presentation on its construction. A knowledgeable guide will be on hand to answer all your questions, and new display boards offer a deeper look into the Market House's past. For families, there’s a fun new activity where kids can snap a picture at the Tudor 'Face in Hole' board (funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund). Plus, don’t miss the brand-new display showcasing the beautiful timber-framed architecture that defines Ledbury.
