Celebrate Reading and Creativity at Ledbury World Bookfest 2026

Ledbury Town Council is delighted to announce that Ledbury’s World Bookfest will take place on Saturday, 7 March 2026, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, with events and activities happening across the town.

This vibrant community celebration will bring the magic of books and storytelling to life, offering a full day dedicated to imagination, creativity and the joy of reading. Families, children and book lovers of all ages can look forward to a packed programme featuring live storytelling sessions, workshops with author John Dougherty, Aardman workshops, poetry, face painting, craft market, mask making, a fancy dress competition, and many more activities throughout the day.

Dress up as your favourite book character and join in the fun! The overall winner of the fancy dress competition will receive an incredible prize, a family ticket to Lakefest! Why not dress up together as a family, coordinate your costumes with friends, or come as part of a group to really impress the judges? Everyone is welcome – all ages, all characters, and all levels of effort.

This year, Masefield Matters has teamed up with the Ledbury Independent Traders Association to bring you a Delightful competition! Copies of John Masefield’s The Box of Delights have been hidden in shop windows along Ledbury High Street and The Homend. Simply visit the participating shops, tick the shops that have the book in the window, and fill out your entry. All completed entries will go into a prize draw, and three lucky winners will receive a prize! Further details are included in the programme.

Free parking will be available at Ledbury Primary School, where visitors can also take part in the ‘Wild Rumpus’, an interactive storytelling experience full of imagination and fun. From there, attendees are encouraged to leave their cars and enjoy a short walk into town to explore the rest of the activities.

The full Ledbury World Bookfest programme is available on the Town Council’s website and Facebook page. Printed copies can also be collected from the Town Council offices.

Join us in celebrating stories, creativity and community at Ledbury World Bookfest 2026.
