Ledbury Town Council was delighted to attend Ledbury Community Day on Saturday, 6 June at the Recreation Ground, where members had the opportunity to meet with residents, answer questions, and discuss a range of local issues and initiatives.
Throughout the day, the Council's stand welcomed a steady stream of visitors who were keen to learn more about the role of the Council, the process of co-option, and what is involved in becoming a Councillor. It provided an excellent opportunity for residents to find out how they can become more involved in local decision-making and contribute to the future of the town.
Residents were also invited to share their views on where they would like to see Council funding invested in the future. Valuable feedback was received on a variety of topics, helping Councillor's gain a better understanding of local priorities and the projects and services that matter most to the community.
One of the most popular activities on the stand was the competition to name the Council's Foamstream machine, which is used as an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical weed control. Residents submitted a range of imaginative suggestions, and after the votes were counted, Foam Ranger was announced as the winning name. Mr Reynolds was also a popular choice, finishing in second place.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for Councillor's and residents to engage in meaningful conversations in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Community events such as Ledbury Community Day play an important role in strengthening relationships between the Council and residents, ensuring that local voices are heard and reflected in future plans and decisions.
The Council would like to thank everyone who visited the stand, shared their ideas, asked questions, and took part in the naming competition. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the day, and we look forward to continuing these conversations and working together to support and improve our community.
