Horticultural Society

Ledbury, Herefordshire – On August Bank Holiday Monday, the Ledbury Horticultural Society invites local families, young people, and green-fingered enthusiasts of all ages to take part in the 2025 Ledbury Flower Show – a much-loved annual tradition held alongside the town’s vibrant Carnival.

This year is particularly special as the Society celebrates its 150th anniversary, and all exhibitors will automatically be entered into a £150 Garden Voucher Prize Draw to mark the occasion!

The show boasts 10 exciting divisions: Vegetables Dahlias Flowers Pot Plants Fruit Cookery Photography Handicraft Floral Art Children and Families

Each division features a variety of creative classes, with trophies including Silver Cups, Plates, and Glass Bowls awarded to top scorers. The Children’s Division is especially welcoming, with all young participants receiving a rosette and prize money, and the overall winner receiving the prestigious Alan Cadbury Cup.

In the spirit of community, the Society is once again running its Geranium Growing Competition, open to anyone who picked up a free plug plant during Ledbury Community Day. The winner will receive a £150 garden voucher, encouraging budding gardeners of all ages to get involved.

Among the highlights is the awarding of the Banksian Medal, a special honour from the Royal Horticultural Society, given to the exhibitor with the most points across all horticultural divisions.

Whether you're a keen grower, a crafty cook, a budding photographer or a curious child wanting to try something new—there’s a class for everyone.This is a fantastic opportunity for families to create, grow, and learn together, while being part of a joyful community celebration.

To enter the competition, you must obtain a show schedule that includes the 93 classes from either James at Ledbury Hardware store in the Homend or from Mark at Newent Plant Centre at the Nest.

Application forms are attached to the schedule and they need to be returned to James at the Ledbury Hardware store.
