Update to work in your area.
You may recall that we wrote to you recently to let you know about our work to install a new water main so that we can provide residents with a safe and reliable drinking water supply for decades to come. We’d like to update you on our next steps.
Road Closure
From the 29th October to the 3rd November a road closure will be in place at the Top Cross Junction in Ledbury . Please find a detailed map on the next page with more information .
What can expect
Due to the layout of the junction and to keep the team, public and motorists safe, this section of road will be closed, and a controlled diversion will be in place.
During this time, the road will be closed to through traffic from Worcester Road through to New Street. We will be ensuring that access from Southend through to High Street is available. This will minimise disruption for the residents and businesses within the local area and maintain the flow of traffic thoughout the duration of the work. This section will also be controlled by temporary traffic lights.
Following completion of the section of work within Worcester Road, the road closure will be removed, and we will revert to a controlled four- way lighting arrangement at the Top Cross junction.
Our Traffic Management Team will be on hand to help manage the safe flow of traffic during the road closure. We will have manned areas situated at the Co- Operative Store, Cutthroat Lane and in the vicinity of the Police Station to assist motorists and pedestrians with travelling safely and to ensure the traffic flows correctly.
As mentioned above please find on the next page a layout of the diversion route and a more detailed plan of the closure at Cutthroat Lane and Top Cross Junction.
We’ll be working with our contractor partners Envolve Civil Engineering to get the work done so you may notice their vehicles in the area
Working hours
Due to the nature of our works and the need to complete them as safely and quickly as possible and to avoid unnecessary disruption, our teams will be working extended hours from 7am- 11pm for the duration of the road closure, although sometimes we may need to work outside of these hours to complete any necessary work.
Impact on water supply
This work shouldn’t impact your water supply, but if this changes we’ll let you know.
