THE MAYOR'S MILE CHARITY EVENT – PRESS RELEASE
Lace up your trainers and mark your calendars – The Mayor's Mile is back!
Join us on Sunday, 9th August in Ledbury for this year's Mayor's Mile, a fun-filled community event in collaboration with Ledbury Football Club.
Registration and warm-up will take place from 10:00am at St Katherine's Square, with the event starting at 10:30am.
Whether you're a seasoned runner, a keen walker or simply looking to enjoy some fresh air while supporting a great local cause, there's something for everyone!
Choose your challenge:
- 1 mile for a leisurely stroll
- 3 miles for a bit more of a challenge
- 6 miles for those wanting to test their endurance
All ages are welcome! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Can't make it on the day? You can still take part!
New for this year, we're introducing a Virtual Mayor's Mile. If you're unable to join us on Sunday, 9th August, you can complete your chosen distance at a time and place that suits you.
Simply record your walk or run using your favourite fitness app, then send us a screenshot of your completed distance. Everyone who submits their result will receive a virtual Mayor's Mile medal, and we'll be celebrating participants by sharing your achievements on the Town Council's social media channels (with your permission).
Entry details:
- FREE with a completed sponsorship form, or
- On-the-day entry: £5 for adults and £2 for children.
All proceeds raised will go to Ledbury Football Club, helping to support the club and its ongoing work within the local community.
Every participant taking part on the day will receive a commemorative medal to celebrate their achievement.
